Most of the adverts I see today are on social media. And I learn about new products and new companies on social media such as Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter. One of the advantages of advertising on social media is that it is a cost-effective resource. Anyone with a profile & an account on any social media would be able to view these adverts. A popular website called Blue fountain media, stated that; “It’s easy to see that social media marketing is a key element for success in marketing and many marketers realize the potential for business growth using the platform”. Seeing as how social media is the most common means of communicating today and almost everyone has access to it, it is beneficial for companies to advertise on social media. Companies can connect with their customers through social media platforms and this makes the customers appreciate the fact that they would get responses back if they should post on the company’s page. organizations would choose to advertise on social media due to the fact that it is fast, it caters to a large audience and it doesn’t cost anything.
The advertising campaign of companies that post of social media would be different from that of traditional media in the sense that they just need to post their adverts and share it and it could go viral. A friend of mine once saw an advert for Korean ramen noodles on twitter and she has been addicted to ramen noodles since then. She had seen the advert and half-mindedly just decided to try the ramen noodles. This is how companies gain new customers everyday.
